Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®)
Das Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) ist die neueste Entwicklung in einer evolutionären Serie von Capability Maturity Models, die vom Software Engineering Institute, Teil der Carnegie Mellon Universität in Pittsburgh, USA, entwickelt wurde. Die zentrale Prämisse des CMMI® ist, dass “die Qualität eines Systems oder Produkts stark durch das zu seiner Entwicklung und Unterhaltung verwendete Verfahren beeinflusst wird”.
Das CMMI® bietet:
- Richtlinien zur Verbesserung der Verfahren einer Organisation
- Eine integrierte Vorgehensweise zur Verfahrensverbesserung
- “Institutionalisierung” der Verbesserungen – sie zum Alltagsgeschäft machen
- Eine schrittweise Annäherung an die Einführung von Verbesserungen
