This seminar has been designed to provide an insight into the CMMI, the business drivers for its increased use and how to apply it in the real world. The seminar consists of 2 presentations:
Introduction to CMMI
This presentation provides a high level non-technical overview of the CMMI focusing on its pedigree, what it is, how it is used and benefits attained through its application. The presentation will briefly describe the three CMMI models (CMMI-DEV, CMMI-SVC, CMMI-ACQ) and their applicability. It will also provide an overview of CMMI Appraisals and discuss their role within a process improvement initiative.
Setting up for success
3 in 20 business improvement projects succeed. It's not surprising. The business improvement project will be atypical of the projects delivered in your company. It will struggle to compete against projects that deliver core business and it will be highly complex. To succeed, the management approach will need to continually evolve as the project progresses. What works today will be stale tomorrow. This presentation is aimed at project and line managers tasked with managing process improvement. It is highly practical and contains advice that attendees can take away and try in their organisations.
We have assembled a panel session of experts from Lamri and industry practitioners who have successfully led complex CMMI driven improvement projects.
The panel includes:
Paul Morgan, Director of Technology, TargetFollow Estates Ltd
Steve Haighway, PMO and Business Improvement Director, BT DFTS
Ric Woodgate, Head of Consultancy, BAE Systems AEI
Frank Johnstone, Head of Delivery, Lamri
Keith Bray, Managing Consultant and CMMI Lead Appraiser, Lamri
This presentation will address the key question “how do you create an enduring process improvement initiative”.
