"Our selection of Lamri to lead us through the CMMI appraisal process was rewarded by success. Our quest for CMMI accreditation started at the beginning of 2007 with a SCAMPI B gap analysis, this identified a number of weaknesses across all process areas. For the next 12 months we tried to address the gaps ourselves, but without a joined up approach could not close those gaps.

Lamri then put forward a proposal based on a collaborative approach, to lead us through a rigorous process definition phase over a 13-week period. This produced 48 key artefacts across 6 process areas all delivered to a formal standard and included policy documents, processes with key measurements, training material and a CMMI maturity measurement tracker.

In August 2008 Lamri then assisted us with the roll out and institutionalisation of these processes and Lamri led the adoption measurement approach using internal process champions. Once again Lamri’s practical and pragmatic approach proved to be a winning formula and within a couple of months there was a significant shift towards fully compliant process adoption.

In December 2008 Land Registry Information Systems achieved an excellent result in SCAMPI B preparing us for a successful SCAMPI A appraisal in March 2009 and achievement of a maturity level 2 rating.

Process adoption measurement was fundamental in us achieving this result allowing us to focus effort on weaker areas. The Lamri approach, and the continuity, commitment and experience of the Lamri team, have been undoubtedly key in Land Registry achieving CMMI accreditation.

"The Introduction to CMMI course was very informative, enlightening and motivating. Compliments on the choice of instructor (Keith Bray), probably the best course instructor I’ve seen in my 12 years in IT. He was easy to talk to and very personable, and gave very realistic explanations"

Thales LSS

Lamri delivered a short focussed consultancy engagement to help Thales LSS mobilise their CMMI driven process improvement programme.  The engagement involved extensive skills transfer centred around supporting the in-house programme manager plan the improvement programme and then establish it to the point where its delivery was sustained.  Thales staff commended Lamri’s “practical business focus”,  ability to “rapidly understand the ‘Thales world’” and commented on how Lamri were a “breath of fresh air.”
"There has been more progress on the ground in the last two months than in the previous two years" - Paul Watson, Operations Director

BT DFTS

Just as BT has  transformed the way the MoD does business since joining with the MoD in 1997 to deliver the Defence Fixed Telecommunications Service, so Lamri has been instrumental in assisting BT DFTS use CMMI to transform its processes to underpin this important project.

"Lamri are, by a county mile, the best consultancy I have ever worked with", Dirk Van Beek, BT DFTS Programme Director.

Malta Information Technology Agency

In December 2008 Lamri were delighted to win the contract for one of the first CMMI-ACQ assessments in Europe.

"The training received from Keith was very intensive.  Keith went in depth in each Specific Goal, Specific Practice and Generic Practice pertaining to the CMMI-Acquisition.  Infact during the training Keith helped us identify which areas required improvement and procedures which had to be amended. The feasibility report, which is still being discussed to identify if we are to go for CMMI, reflects all the discussions held during the training.  With the help of the traffic lights, one at once can identify where improvements are needed.  As stated in the feasibility report, the gaps found in MITA are ‘relatively minor and would not significantly affect the goals of the process areas’. "

Accenture

Accenture, one of Lamri’s strategic customers, has received nine CMMI Maturity Level 3 ratings in one of the largest and most focused CMMI appraisal programmes ever conducted.  The ratings were awarded to Accenture’s Financial Services unit which comprises more than 30,000 professionals spread across 16 countries.  Lamri partnered with Accenture on building the approach to, and supporting the management of, this unique CMMI appraisal programme.  In addition, Lamri led 6 of the 9 appraisals conducted in the programme.

CMMI is a benchmark of an organisation’s capability to deliver technology based projects successfully. Organisations are now, more than ever, critically dependent on their ability to exploit technology to drive up revenues and bring down costs.  In the US CMMI has been used for some years by the US Department of Defense as a qualifier in the procurement process and it is now finding favor in Europe.

“This is a real change marker for this sector, one that will alter the competitive landscape and has serious potential to change procurement practice for technology based projects in the private and public sector.  In fact, if leveraged by their sales team, this creates a strong unique selling point that would take the competition at least 18 months to replicate,” said Andrew Griffiths, Managing Director, Lamri.

“We are proud to be recognized as successfully subscribing to internationally acclaimed quality standards.  Lamri’s expertise was vital in helping us to fully understand the complexity of our CMMI aspirations and the power of independent verification.  Being able to demonstrate a minimum of CMMI level 3 across our entire range of work is a fantastic market credential that our clients can rely on.”

Mark Smith, Global Director of Quality, Accenture Financial Services

"The knowledge and experience of the Lamri team has been invaluable in helping us focus on both what to do to make the change and how to go about it. Our efforts to define and improve our internal processes have achieved a real momentum as a result of their expertise; in particular it has been their ability to identify what will work for us and to adapt the textbook approach accordingly that has helped us make the changes thus far. Although we are on the first steps of this journey I am confident they are the right steps, in the right direction, as a result of the difference they have made"

Clive Benton - Development Group Manager

LogicaCMG UK Ltd
"LogicaCMG UK Ltd started its journey towards CMMI towards the end of 2005.  Right from the start we determined the need for external expertise in the methodology and spoke to a number of companies offering CMMI consultancy, training and appraisals.  Lamri made an immediate favourable impression in their responsiveness, flexibility and pragmatism.  Our goal in utilising CMMI was not to get a certificate on the wall but to use it as a driver towards real business improvements.  It was an opportunity for us to re-evaluate our internal processes using a model other than ISO9001 and TickIT.  We wanted to check if we were still operating best practices and to tease out improvements in business critical areas.  These kind of objectives require a special kind of support. We were not interested in CMMI specialists who could  quote the book chapter and verse. We needed people who could interpret CMMI goals intelligently in our complex business environment with many projects of various sizes and flavours.  Lamri convinced us that they could add real value to our programme and so it proved in the following months.

Lamri provided excellent CMMI support with the right balance of firmness, pragmatism and flexibility.  They had a good understanding of our needs and gave a lot of good practical advice. Lamri soon became key to our CMMI initiative providing valued common sense input on scoping and planning and making sure our SCAMPI appraisals went smoothly.

The end result met our objectives.  Opportunities for real business improvements were identified and addressed.  Along the way  we have also gained Maturity Level 3 for our Space & Defence and Public Sector businesses against v1.2 of the CMMI model which provides a substantial benchmark of our current processes against industry best practice."

Bill Martin, Assurance & Improvement Manager, LogicaCMG UK Ltd

We have just completed the 3 day Introduction to CMMI course and we all enjoyed it very much. I have asked the other attendees and I have received a unanimous response that Keith Bray did a tremendous job, bringing his knowledge, experience and dry sense of humour to an enjoyable and useful 3 days of what could have been a very dry and tedious course.
I would also say that Keith demonstrated his knowledge of the subject by answering every question thrown at him immediately, no hesitation. And there were some quite demanding questions. I had been warned that this is a tedious course because of the number of powerpoint slides, but I can honestly say it was far from tedious
